• The first chapter in the trilogy is a Southern Gothic Urban Adventure (except it's more of a Midwestern Gothic Urban Adventure), where our heroes face an evil so unspeakable that they must seek help from another evil and dangerous force in the neighbourhood; the Ku Klux Klan. From there, things go from hobo-balls bad, to dead hobo-balls worse.

  • The second, most obnoxious chapter in the trilogy is a Neon Synthwave Thriller that eventually turns into something completely incomprehensible. A typical job for the boys goes haywire after an encounter with a femme fatale spirals into a visceral deathmatch that shakes their fragile dynamic forever.

  • The third and final chapter in the trilogy is a Dark Fantasy Action Horror. Instead of Bug and Compton, our focus turns to a team of thrill-seeking warriors who are looking for the fight of their lives and decide that our heroes are the perfect candidates. As they enter the boys' home however, their expectations are quite literally blown away.

  • Bonus round. If you would like to see where the trilogy began and see those aforementioned 7 episodes, check this bad boy out. You're looking at one hour of pure, unfettered nonsense.

COOCHIE - BEHIND THE SCENES

COOCHIE: THE ANIMATED SERIES

In 2017, I created an animated series that became a thematic basis for the latter half of my art school education. It was a tribute to late night, adult animated series as seen on cable television in the late 90s to the early to mid 2000s. It was called Coochie and it lasted 7 episodes. The original Coochie animated series was canned for several reasons; but mostly because the tone was a bit too serious and consistent for what it was... a piece of shit.

In its stead was a soft reboot, kind of a series of OVAs that took place separate from the series and had an identity of its own. They had more violence, more drugs, more masturbation and lots of crunchy, tasty gore. This time, I wasn't going to make the same mistake. I was going to allow the series to embrace the garbage.

Behold. Three short films, three distinctly different tales.

Each tell the story of two travelling mercenaries: Bug Simpson, the deadly insect-cowboy assassin with sharp aim and a mean-spirited edge and his knockaround, carefree, undead buddy Compton as they slay monsters, kiss babes and go from one shocking, bullshit scenario to the next!
